you don't have 2 systems at all

I think the OP has made a mistake when he talks about 2 systems. He does not have two systems, just one "total photographic system"

I consider myself to some extent in the same position, in terms of having a large number of lenses, bodies and flashes.

What I really have is a manual focus kit, and an auto focus kit.

The MF Kit includes 10 primes mostly K mount but also some M42 lenses from 24mm to 400mm plus a 70-200 F3.5 Series 1 zoom.

The AF kit includes 6 zooms (although 2 don;t get used any more) covering 10mm to 200mm (400mm with a 2x TC)

I have 6 bodies, 3 film (one AF, 2 MF) and 3 digital. With the exception of my SMC-FA-J 18-35 and Sigma APO 10-20 EX DC, every other lens can be used on every body, these 2 lenses however can be used on my PZ-1 through all 3 digital bodies, although the sigma vignetts at below 13mm on a full frame film camera.

I have one "auto" flash for the 2 MF film bodies, an AF500FTZ for the PZ-1 and *istD and an AF540FGZ that can work on every body.

This is a single system, Virtually everything can work with everything else, with some limitations on the flashes (my Vivitar autozoom 3000 will never be attached to my electronic bodies, as it has a 200V trigger voltage) and the AF500FTZ only works in the PZ-1 and *istD) but otherwise, I can shoot in what ever format I want, with or without flash, with or without AF, at virtually the same field of view on both film and digital.

This is what pentax holds as an advantage over every other camera maker at this point in time. A single integrated system that can incorporate elements over a 40 year (plus) development cycle of equipment.

Indeed the lenses can be shared, but I tend to use some lenses on a certain format more than the other, which is why I "feel" that I have two systems, while as you say I probably only have one since they're almost all interchangeable

Sigma 10-20mm doesn't vignette at 14mm full frame? That's pretty wide indeed... in the "da lenses on full frame" thread the DA 12-24 is reported to vignette below 16mm. Another case for the Sigma over the Pentax I guess

I think I was wishing that if I get the 105mm I can finally get the street shots that Mike Cash gets... I've tried the 100mm DFA on film and indeed I like the focal length quite a bit We'll see how (film or digital) I'll like them when I actually use em
I think you can only get those Mike Cash street shots if you're in Japan. Not taking away from Mike's skill as a photog, he's great - but when I was there I found you could wield an SLR in the street, and people really didn't care at all.

Here's a few from my visit to Japan:

Call me weak-sauce, but I don't care to do much street shooting in the US. Different people, different attitudes.

But anyways, I know you'll like that 105 on film or digital. That's why I still have one for myself
