Nesster, your love for film has been obvious for as long as I have known you and your work speaks for itself.
It is interesting for sure how long it does take to shoot 24 or 36 exposers, but how easy it is to rattle them off in digital. But in truth, I can rattle off 24 or 36 shots pretty easy on one of my street walks. In fact, I always carry a spare roll...
If I had to go strictly film, I would have no problem after a little withdrawal period, but as it is, I shoot film 90% of the time now...No exaggeration, I have over 200 rolls in the fridge right now. Of course most of that came from a store that closed down and I bought the inventory of Fuji Xtra 400, Ilford xp-2, and fuji superia 200 rolls...I paid a buck for each roll of film, but I had to buy it all...There are many others as well that the guy threw in, but many are expired or will be soon..I have not seen an issue with expired film yet, so who knows. It has always been in the fridge...
As for medium format, I just finally finished my first roll of Tri-x in my 645n. It took me like 2 months to shoot the roll as I was very picky. I did not want to be dissapointed with my first dance with MF..I also sent it to a pro shop for developing and put on CD...High res scans and CD for a cost of $38.00 ..OUCH!!! will get them next week...Hope they are good.
..
But in the future, I will develop and scan my own MF stuff..Of course this means I need to buy me another scanner that does MF, so that will have to wait. My wife will have me with an apple in my mouth over a fire if I spend more money of my photography hobby and she finds out...
