I have a recently aquired ist film SLR, which won't rewind the film, it clicks a few times, occasionaly the flash pops up & down on its own, while attempting to rewind! It does sound likes it starts to try and rewind the film but just can't.
I've put four films through, & taken them out in a changing bag, everything else seems to work fine.
It has been sugested it could be the main board, that is no longer available as a spare part, has anyone else got any experience or ideas? It seems a shame to scrap what is for all other purposes a good clean camera.
I'm open to any suggestion, other areas it could be faulty. I wondered if there is a specific rewind motor, or gears that may have jammed, When I rewind the film by hand the first foot of film I pull off the take up spool is fairly stiff, then becomes easier - is there a clutch on this that may be not disengaging.
I have experience of working on earlier mechanical cameras, & I'm not scared of attempting a DIY fix, but don't want to start without any idea.
Any help or suggestion gratefully received
