It's a rare collectors item. The price being asked has nothing to do with the fact that it is a camera.

The price is because of the condition, the relative availability, and the completness of the kit.

The type of person to buy this would never use it as a camera. It is just another "object d'art" like a Ming vase, or a rare coin.

Its only worth it to the person who buys it. And that ain't me.

It's probably good I don't have that sort of money, since I would not be able to resist using it and would rapidly devalve its value. This will probably sit on some collectors shelf...never have a film inside...quite sad!

I agree. A pristine condition and fairly recently made titanium LX, they are too good to be sitting in a box. (They could actually be used, without people knowing that it was a unique model).
Guess one should have bought the LX 2000 when they came out, then the prices wouldn’t be absurd.

I would sooner buy a mint in box regular LX than buy this. that way I could at least use the damn thing. it does look good though. I really must acquire an LX.

I can't speak on the value of those older, rare Pentax items but the price on the Voigtlander lens isn't too wacky.
I paid $549 from Stephen Gandy - CameraQuest.

Is that LX missing a screw on the lower left front? Or is that always open on an LX and the others are studs, not screws?

It is the fitting for the hand grip.

The receiver in the lower left accepts either the drive screw from the fitting handgrip or the fourth stud. Both would be included in the kit box. This item is so untouched that neither has yet been mounted.
