That is for sure a very nice Asahi Pentax K.

Clean house. Lucky find!

May I ask where you found this?

Well thank you , I found it at a self storage facility sale . Hope to get rid of the digital and go back to the original way it was done.

I would really recommend you to send it to Eric for a CLA, that is a Clean Lubricate and Adjust. The foam and light seals should be replaced and since it is old, the old lubricans should be cleaned out and replaced. An adjustment will verfy the function of the shutter and the times. And then you will be able to use it for 20-30 years to come. well invested money IMHO.

Regards
Baard-Einar.

If you look here you should be able to work out which camera you have, assuming that it has a screw mount lens. They have another page for bayonet mount bodies, if you mean that it's an MG. Sad to say MGs are not worth much even in black, although if it's working and the viewfinder surround isn't cracked it's a step up from most of the ones on ebay!

Pentax offered pretty much everything in black, but with most of the older bodies it was an optional extra for which you'd have paid more and waited longer. AFAIK the following were black as standard, there was a chrome option on some of them:

ES (and the short-lived "Electro Spotmatic" which came before it)
ESII (could be had in chrome)
MV
MV1 (also exists in chrome)
Super A/Program A (I think the version badged as the "Program Plus" was offered in chrome?)
A3/A3000
All the P3s/P30s and the P50 were in black or dark grey
The LX was launched in black but has also appeared in titanium silver, there was a gold plated limited edition too

That accounts for the manual focus bodies, unless I've missed some?

I think a Black 'S' might be rarer that a Black 'AP' ?
This one sold for $1140 recently (6/26/2014):
Do you think the S is more worth than the black AP? I would love to add a black AP to my Collection.

No. But close.
I have never seen a black 'S' sell for more than a black 'AP' in similar condition. I do wonder if a black 'S' camera is rarer than a black 'AP' though, solely because there are fewer 'S's in the world (no more that 3000?) than 'AP's (~19,000?).

Me too! If the 'right' one comes along, a really nice one, 'click'.

edit 2/6/15:
Just 'clicked'. I bought a black AP with an all black Takumar 58/2.0 Sonnar preset attached. The camera is in 'fair' condition, the lens in 'good' condition.
I decided to add them to my collection anyway, because both are so rare, rarely seen 'for sale' in any condition.
