Best B&W films for scanning?

Can any of you guys that are shooting black & white and scanning the negatives give suggestions regarding what brands/types you think are best for this use? I realize that film (and developer combinations) are pretty subjective; I'm curious as whether or not some films have any inherent characteristics that make them better for scanning. I know from my experience that the C41 films allow you to use ICE when scanning, which can be a pretty good thing. My old negs are mostly Tri-X, with some Plus-X and Pan-X (I'm sure that I'm really dating myself here), so my scanning experience has been limited to those. I have a Coolscan V ED for scanning 35mm and will probably be getting a flatbed before the end of the year.

Most of my negatives are medium and large format and have been scanned on an Epson flatbed (4870). I been very satisified with the results with prints up to 13 x 19 on an Epson R2400 printer. I can't tell much difference between the older T-max negatives (100 and 400) and the newer Ilford Delta negatives. I think both films scan well although I prefer Ilford Delta 100.

Before I switched to digital output, I used the condenser option on a Dual Dictro head. Consequently, I wanted negatives that were lower contrast than those produced by photographers using a diffused light source. I sincerely think this made them easier to scan.
