What batteries for Pentax MX winder

I just got that Pentax MX from ebay, and I'm getting a winder for it. The user's manual for the winder manual, however, describes the batteries as four 6V manganese (?) or alkaline "penlight type batteries." This I take to mean what are now called AA alkaline batteries. Is this correct? Or is the manual talking about a difficult to find set of batteries for the winder???

When I put my MX winder away last year I took out 4 AA Alkaline batteries. Mine is getting repaired right now but I'll be able to confirm that when I get it back.

Thanks, Shawn. I'm pretty sure it's got to be four AA alkalines, but better to be safe than end up with a frizzy-fried winder.

Yes, that's ordinary AA batteries.

Right! Just regular ol' AA batteries work just fine. Four of 'em.

Didn't something else in recent years from Pentax use four AA batteries?

Thank you all. That's one less thing to worry about. Another is that I'm receiving the shipment from Canada "express." The tracking information reads that the item was posted in Missassauga (sp?), Ontario on 5/17 and was just received at Lindsey, Ontario on 5/22!! And I'm in South Florida USA!! It seems I have a long wait ahead. Glad they sent it "express," though.

Wow only four AA batteries! I just got a motor drive A system, and it takes 8AA batteries. My compact fairly lightweight super program camera went into the heavyweight realm quickly. Have fun with your new winder.
