LX body Repair

Both of my LX bodies are suffering from the usual faults that these bodies have when well used (flash unreliable, sticky mirror, shutter lock up, etc.)

Does anyone have any recommended service centers that specialize in LX bodies?

I'm trying out a site in Tennesee called Home. I just sent my MX winder to him for repair. I found this link in another thread here.

Your other option is to contact Pentax in Colorado and send it back to them for factory service.

PhotoMark in Phoenix uses a repair shop in California who specializes in vintage Pentax.
You may want to call them 602 244 1133 and ask for Jay (I'm in no way affiliated with them). They fixed an MX for me for about $110.

Apparently PentaxUSA in Colorado still services LX bodies and that would be my first choice. They CLA'd mine two years ago for about $130, as I recall.

I think I will send them back to Pentax in CO. I've been reading posts that have horror stories at all facilities except Pentax. There is one guy in the UK that is the best for LX, but he won't do work from America because the problem getting Pound to him. At least that is what I have read.

Dan, I just received my MX winder back from Home. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the service. Not only did he fix it for a reasonable cost ($40) but I also had it back within a week. Payment was through PayPal. I'd use his services again if I had another camera that needed fixed.

I just got a Pentax ME Super back from Eric Hendrickson (pentaxs.com). His prices are very good and the whole process took about 1 week.
