Local ad poster has head in the clouds

This is a screenshot from a local Montreal Kijiji listing. I just had to share because of how unbelievably ridiculous it was.

Some people are...'special'.

It's in french, but basically he's saying that his 'kit' is worth $3,231 new at Lozeau (retail camera shop) so he's giving you a steal for only $995.

Should I jump on it?!

I remember selling those lenses when I worked for Astral Photo in the 80s. The 28mm lens sold for $49.99, the 100-300 was less than $200.00 and is a garbage lens.

Yep, "Image" was the Astral Photo "house brand", IIRC.

Not sure what that seller is smoking. Can't blame a guy for trying, I suppose.

I've seen some very weird pricing on ebay before now. Case in point, Pentax-A 50mm f2 lenses. One seller has a pile of them for £60 or more, another has one for £25 or so. I'm not sure whether anyone is buying the overpriced ones, but there does seem to be a stubborn streak that refuses to drop prices to a level where items will actually sell.

It happens with AF lenses too - I see ones that have had appalling reviews here listed for £70. Oddly enough, they don't tend to sell...
