What is the battery type for ME Super?

Hi guys,

Does anybody know what kind of battery used for Pentax ME Super?
And how many do I need inside the camera, is it just 1 or 2 or else?

Thanks in advance,

2x 1.5 Volt silver-oxide (A76, SR44) or alkaline (LR44)

What monochrome said. ^^

Alkaline is okay, silver oxide is much better.

If you want to not replace batteries again for the better part of friggin' eternity, use a single CR1/3N lithium cell instead.

Thanks, monochrome & Sluggo.

I don't use the ME Super often enough because I have K20D
So I'll go with the cheapest route then.

Thanks again,

Generally the Code 357 is commonly found at Walgreen's in Duracell, Energizer and Eveready - as a CODE that replaces SR44/LR44 now.

According to the manual replacement batteries should be S76E there was another type not mentioned in the thread but were not available to readily buy these days.

There's also the option of the CR 1/3 N, which is one lithium battery.

Every battery seems to have at least three names...

The SR44 has a standard IEC name of SR1154...which no one uses.

Hi, does this battery work??

Duracell 2016 Lithium Battery, 1/Pack

I'm not sure because it is quite small.

For what it's worth, I just ordered (Amazon) a 3 pack of Energizer silver oxide 357 batteries for my K1000 and Kr5Super. I got many years out of the alkaline A76's these are replacing with occasional use. Will have to try the lithium next time.
