MZX Shutter/Mirror

When I'm using the slow shutter speeds, the mirror remains up until I recock the shutter. Any suggestions as to the reason? Is this a major issue?

As far as I'm aware, the ZX/MZ series of camera recocks the shutter for you at the end of the picture taking cycle (Mirror goes up, aperature stops down, shutter opens, shutter closes, aperature opens, mirror drops down). At what shutter speeds does the mirror start to stay up? If it's "B". then the mirror will stay up until you've released the shutter trigger.
