Haha! Excellent.

I actually had some prints from (one of, at least) my first rolls of B&W all sort of framed-up: sometimes I wonder if they're still kicking around in my folks' house. A lot of my early stuff was lost or treated badly in some rather turbulent times, but sometimes I wonder if those shots survived by virtue of having been stuffed in cheap frames for inoffensive decoration. There might also be some goodies in that attic, possibly a couple of well-baked TLRs.

It was very fresh, and it worked. (I've always seemed to be the sort who'll do brilliantly the first time she sets her hands to something, then spend ages trying to learn 'how to do it.' I've had a number of students that were the same way, about photography, at least. )

B&W in D-76

In '69 I was an Army combat photog shooting lots of tri-X and using up about 3 1/2 gal. of D-76 a week working out of a modified truck body. Printed mostly 5X7s and never bigger than 8X10. Yes, they had grain but the tones had some character.
