A Pentax rarity at a price!

Browsing for a specific Pentax lens on eBay, I came across this:

eBay.ca : Pentax LX 2000 + 50/1.2 RARE 99% MINT+ IN BOX objet 160379716918 fin)

The whole kit looks brand new to me, but are you willing to pay the price?
I offered $200 US and waiting for a reply .... Not really, I did not.

Yeah, I can see your point.
When I saw the astronomical price, I thought there was one zero too much.

By the way, any Cosina 55/1.2 or Pentax f1.2 in your neck of the woods for sale?

Cheers.

Ha, I had to pay $170 just to clean and repair the sticky shutter on my LX, if you get an LX 2000 for $200 then I might blow a gasket

Quite a piece of work this LX, isn't it? And with that beautiful F1.2 lens with it ... dreamy!
The $170 was well spent, from what I gather seeing the pics on the eBay ad.

I love how the $10 insurance is optional.

I think it is easier to find a mint in box LX 2000 then it is to find a clean working black KM.

The LX 2000 is often on ebay. I don't think they are that rare. The people who bought them new were primarily collectors, so most of them are unused.

I have seen at least a dozen LX 2000's on e-bay. I have only ever seen one black KM.

Lucky you! I found only one and that was this one I posted. Wondering if thay also asked for the same ridiculous price?
As for your black KM ... are we talking about the same "K-m"?

I have never seen an LX 2000 for less then $4,000.00

The black KM was a film camera, and not a digital K-m.

As for the LX 2000, there are two on ebay right now.

I have often wondered if that is the same LX 2000 offered a dozen times!

Here is a black KM, but it's not cheap:

Black Pentax KM Camera Body: Price - $329.00

I am offering my Black Asahi Pentax KM camera (SN 8197947) for sale. As you can see from the photos, it is in beautiful collector condition. I rate this as a 9+ condition with some very minor marks and a small dent on the bottom baseplate. The shutter is nice and snappy at all speeds, the meter seems to be ½ stop different from my test camera. The inside is super clean. If you collect early Pentax K mount cameras, this is a real beauty. If you want to see some photographs of this camera, please click on these links –

Black KM bodies are not common, but they are seen from time to time.
I had one, and it was too perfect. I'm actually glad to be rid of it.
The chrome KM I now own is otherwise identical, and I need not fear scratching it!
