What do you make of this?

Is this some fault in the emulsion or can this happen by poor developing? The problem is mainly on this one shot but is was also apparent on the next shot on the roll.

The film is Kentmere 100, first time I tried this film. I haven't seen anything like this before. The rest of the roll looks fine.

What is it!?

If I had to guess I would say it is in the film itself.

Either that or the film is touching something in the tank

I agree. The last time I saw something like this, I had some bubbles in the solution in the tank. Mine was a little more pronounced, but its the only thing that comes to mind.

I don't think the film was touching anything in the tank, loading went as usual. I have never gotten any bubbles before and I tap the tank thoroughly after every agitation, I find that hard to believe also.

That leaves a fault in the film itself, I think I'll send an email to the shop and ask them if I get a refund, or at least an explanation as to what it could be.

Thanks for the input.

Kentmere is marketed by Harman, the same folks who sell Ilford.
I'd be very surprised if it's a coating flaw or some other QC issue.

In the future I'd love to see some more pics and your review of Kentmere 100 film.

It wasn't an X-Ray camera, was it? If it was, it looks like stool impaction inside the colon

It looks like bubbles to me. It could have been bubble at manufacture or at processing. If I had to play the odds, I would bet the latter.

We're really not questioning your technique here, you were probably just unlucky.

Nope, not an X-ray camera.

Bubbles huh, well I guess some time has to be the first. I'm going to end up as paranoid as one of the people I some times work with in the darkroom. She got bubbles one time and now she beats the living hell out of the tank while processing. You could probably hear it from a block away

If I tell you it was the film, will you go easy on the poor tank?
