Very Special K1000 (Not For Sale!)

This very special K1000 was spotted on the used shelf at a local camera shop. Anyone familiar with the K1000 can immediately see that this one is a little out of the norm. Note the special finish and "limited" style push on lens cap!

NOT!!!

One of the guys in the repair shop was a little bored and polished all of the frosted silver finish off this K1000 to reveal the brass alloy metal underneath. Pretty cool, I'd say...

I agree. Thankfully its only a short (depending on traffic) hop over the bridge. At least I have Blue Moon right down the street.

A real eye-opener!

The cool thing is that Blue Moon and Knight collaborate pretty closely on some things. For example, I take my film to Knight and they send it to Blue Moon for processing.

I have some already. Just need to get home and get my scanning capability up! 9 months in Baghdad without film is killing me. At least it's almost over.

What a beautiful camera. There is something special about these old film cameras, something that says "this is real photography" compared to the modern digital counterparts.

That is one awesome K1000! I like it polished.

Nowadays, in Malaysia, there is a huge followings on film SLR by the young photographers. They are used to digital, now trying their hands in film photography.

I am going to suggest that they paint it black! I can just see it now for eBay:

"Extremely Rare Professional Black Model K1000!"
