Dang Carl, nice shooting.

This isn't exactly minimalist, but I like it. B&L Tessar 1c uncoated bla bla bla

Wow, some nice stuff in this thread. I've been meaning to make my poor contribution, so here it is.

First, one from last winter (I think). Ruffed grouse was here.
Second, one from this winter. Curvy cat.

Obviously I like photographing things in snow...

I really, really wish I'd had a camera with me the day I found a story in the snow:
1) Snow-covered bushes with a cavity where a grouse had been sheltering.
2) Grouse tracks leading from its little 'den'.
3) Bobcat tracks joining the trail. Just strolling along...
4) Bobcat tracks beginning to lengthen as it realised the grouse had just walked by.
5) Bobcat going into 1.5 - 2 metre bounds as it spotted said grouse.
6) Wing marks where the grouse had taken off.
7) Wild skid marks as the bobcat braked to avoid charging straight into a thicket that the grouse had been sitting in front of.

I suppose, given that it covered something like 20 metres of trail I couldn't have done it justice photographically, but still... I always kick myself when I don't bring the camera! One of the best things about winter, all the stories in the snow...

WOW, Julie, I'd love to have seen a sequence of photos around that drama. I came upon a similar story in the snow early this year.

-Three sleeping deer
-Fox tracks heading toward deer
-Fisher tracks heading toward deer
-Fox and fisher surprise one another
-They scare deer awake
-ALL of them tussle and then part to go separate ways, no injuries

Took photos. Here are a couple that fit the minimalist theme:

Story here.
