I didn't see a Kx pricing thread, so I'm creating a new one. If there is one that exists already, feel free to merge this with that one.. Anyway, I am seeing the Kx (with 18-55mm Kit Lens) on Amazon for $463.95. That's the lowest I've seen it for by far. Located HERE.

Make sure that when you click into the Kx page, and "add to cart" you are clicking on the camera sold by amazon (off to the right) as shown in the screenshot below...

On July 18, around 11:00AM PDT I had a K-x 2 lens kit including the 55-300mm in my cart at Amazon (seller Portable Guy) and the price was $699.99, free shipping. I checked back around 6:00PM and the price had jumped by $20, and it's stayed there since:

Camerakings.com has the kit for $699.99 but the fine print says it's an import item, not as presented for domestic distribution and therefore does not have Pentax's warranty, but CameraKing's warranty. I decided to stay clear of that and went ahead and got it through Amazon.

There's an ebay seller right now offering this kit for $699.99. Presumably it would have the Pentax warranty, but I wouldn't buy before posting the seller and asking.

I read some reviews by customers and some were bad but many were good. Anyway, it looked like their K-x was gray goods, or at least didn't have Pentax's warranty, and that doesn't sit right with me. The seller I used (Portable Guy through Amazon) has pretty great reviews at Amazon, so I'm glad I went with that seller. If I hadn't delayed and placed my order earlier in the day (I was very close to doing that, figured I was OK because the listing said the seller had 2 kits to sell), but I didn't anticipate the seller boosting the price.

I decided to buy it anyway, it being the best price I could find that looked reputable.

That would be excellent. ATM it's not too bad, $699.95.

The more I use my K-x, the more I love it. I love the sound of the shutter, and the sensation the camera gives off, mirror slap, I suppose. It's substantial, not the wimpy reaction of my P&S. And it's virtually instant. My P&S was at least a second delay.
