This kit includes the "L" version of the lens (plastic mount and no quick shift) but optical quality is the same as the non-L.

of course it does. it doesn't have quick shift.

As of 9-3-10 price is back to $629 at B&H & Amazon. Kit with 55-200 instead of 55-300 is $615 at Amazon.
