Looking for best price as of September 30 since the K-5 release

speculation on K-7 pricing come December?

I couldn't imagine it lower than $600s

Most online sellers are still around $850 for the K7. I've seen a couple of used ones for around $650.

That may change when the K5 actually hits the marketplace.

I highly doubt it would get beyond the $700 range, if that. If it were going to hover around $600, it would already be there according to previous trends with the K20d and K10d before it. The K7 is simply a higher build quality with more features and is doing a better job at retaining its value. Once the K7 is officially announced as discontinued, the new prices will also likely go up; used will probably hover around the $600-750 (depending on usage, condition and included items) mark for another year or so as well.

I am wondering why there has been a recent price hike for the K-7. It was $760 for a long time on Amazon during July, but in August it jumped to $870 and hasn't budged since. Should go down as soon as K-5 is officially released.

I think you can get the body from Camera Kings or something I googled for $789 and the lens kit for $850

It was curious how the June-July price drop came about; I was one of the lucky ones, it cost all my Sony gear to switch but it has been worth it. Good luck with the price watch!
