One went on ebay a month or so ago for $3100. This one is.. well... more.

I Have had a hand like this, for only € 2000, it was unfortunate that photos unwatchable!

You just bought one for more as I was about to buy and you beat me to it.
I do not see prices coming down for these lens any time soon,especially with Japan situation(new ones if you can order cost about 7G).
Some day you will pat yourself on the back for that 3600 you just paid for this lens.

I was looking for you at San Joaquin marsh to see you lens. How come you did not buy it?

It was raining so I chose to stay home.
Yes, I did not buy the lens because for a super tele I wanted an AF. I tried to buy the FA*300 F2.8.
This week end if the weather is good.

That is interesting. Even if I have an AF lens, I end up setting it in manual when shooting birds, I can control it. I will keep an eye for you next sunday
