Best buy has Pentax???!!!!?! when did this happen. not in Canada unfortunately

. K5 price is not very good in any case, but the refurb price is.

Eddie, they have carried Pentax gear in the US for several years, including direct-from-Pentax refurbished items on a regular basis. Unfortunately almost everything expect for a few point and shoots are sold solely through the website. This is a great deal either way, I personally would prefer a refurbished lens knowing it should be properly fixed, considering the SDM problems with this lens in particular.

The Canadian Buying arm is completely separate from the US unfortunately, some of it is shared with Future Shop up here which they also own, certainly the buyers within a commodity work together
mind you we have a lot of other dealers for Pentax in comparison to the US (at least from a per capita basis) and most of them have it in most of their stores not just on the web.

I'd like to see a deal on the 60-250, some of the limiteds or the DA* primes.

I would guess the availability of the 16-50mm in refurbished form is likely tied to its SDM failure reputation unfortunately! Either of the other 2 DA* zooms would be a great deal at anywhere around that price!
