Pentax FA* 300mm f/2.8 ED IF Lens 300 f2.8 SMC FA Star | eBay

It appears that this lens is missing it's filter pack. Frankly I got a set with each my 3 big FA* lenses, and I've never used any of them. It does look to be in especially pristine condition.

I've spent a small fortune with this seller. He cares a great deal about the lenses, and stands behind what he sells.

IMO, He's about $600 too expensive on this lens, but if you really want one, where are you going to get one? Especially in this nice of shape.

If you're thinking about buying, I suggest you ask him to perform a focus test if he can. As I've come to understand, many of these lenses require a substantial AF adjustment.

That would be fun to have!! But for me I think I want a lens that is longer natively before I could justify getting this one, oh and some money

There's some weird PP going on in the photos of the lens, eg, #2 & #3. Looks like a poorly stiched pano, or a clumsy use of the clone tool.

No way, photos 2,3,4,5&6 all show clear evidence of anomalies.

OK, I see them now. I loaded up the enlarged views. Weird that anyone would doctor shots like this. It looks like someone has [badly] used the Photoshop Clone tool to clean up the images..ie to remove spots etc. That would be strange considering there's still quite a few left behind though.

Good catch. That is weird. Really inspires trust in the listing, doesn't it.

Edit: possible innocent explanation: a clumsy attempt at a focus pano.

Is this on the 300/2.8 or the 400/2.8? There's a different thread for the 400/2.8

The 400, someone posted a link to it on this thread, I hadn't noticed the dedicated thread on it.

Well somewhere between the photos and the listing some gremlins got ahold of something cause you can see it in the straight lines that are suddenly interrupted. It almost looks like when a hologram starts to fade in and out right before it disappears. Maybe its not even real??
