Look like a fantastic example, but wow, how many errors can be packed into the first few sentances of the item description for a $4k lens.

One-of-a-kind....

It looks like they have cut and pasted part of the description of the DA*60-250 into this one. Perhaps an understandable error when posting in your non-native language....
Does anyone know if the company is legit?

Yes Breguet Camera is a legit seller. They are a Top rated seller on ebay and have a very good feedback score. I have considered buying from them before.

^Very legit. No issues with them at all, even their eBay feedback is excellent.

Yeah, quite extraordinary paste up of text, I too think its a hash up from the 60-250, but, this is a legit company, they have sold these before. I was just impressed by this MINT condition lens, something you don't often see, must have been some old put away stock they bought up from the depths of a warehouse somewhere near middle earth.

Insane! Probably gone to a collector. I doubt you will be able to see a 2000 dollar better result apart from the new Sigma 180/f2.8 Macro... But as a collector I would understand buying it at that huge amount.

Pentax should take note

The fact that there is such excitement and desire when something like this is found goes to show how the current lens lineup is very lacking. Why don't they still sell this stuff? Better yet, why don't they put this in a weather sealed casing and sell it? If they did the same with all the limiteds, I think they would have some solid winners in their lineup.

Europe now prohibitis some of the elements in the old FA lens coatings and lens blanks (lead, etc.) so they can't just take the old lens blanks and repackage them in a more modern Ltd. tube. In some cases the glass formulations and/or blanks aren't made any more and can't be ordered.

Consequently the FA lenses need at least tweaks and in some cases major redesigns before they could be reissued - which costs money. If the glass properties change, everything changes.

Since Hoya RIF'ed so many lens engineers, who is going to redesign those lenses?

Somebody is probably out there right now, cutting up a highend Canon or Nikon FF body worth $4000.00 dollars to put this lens on it...
