This would have to be the finest example I've ever seen.... Wish I had some dollars...

Let's hope they don't cut the aperture lever off the lens and ruin it for any future Pentax users.

Insane! Probably gone to a collector. I doubt you will be able to see a 2000 dollar better result apart from the new Sigma 180/f2.8 Macro... But as a collector I would understand buying it at that huge amount.
It might be significantly better than the Sigma 180 macro, but I wonder if it is significantly better than the A*200/4 macro? It is a different design apparently - 2 more elements. But more elements is not always better. Anyone here can comment?

Start a comparison thread, we can have a "macro off"

I'd love to see a comparison. Throw in the Nikon 200mm F4 macro/micro, which looks to have equally good build quality, but fewer elements also.

Sadly I have neither one. Just sold my A*200/4 to a lucky forumer here. Will have to content myself with the Voigt 125/2.5 macro and Leica 100/2.8. Will probably sell the Voigt on... though i can't confidently say that the Leica is superior, just different.

You have to have outliers. Otherwise, who else would screw up the statistics.

Note the careful use of "outing" in this statement.

No indignation, no statement saying, you're calling us liars.

Perhaps this is simple resignation to the fact that you (read as most PentaxForums members), will spend more on glass than you will on a car.
