That's a reputable seller - they're an authorized Pentax dealer, and I bought my K5 from them.

The "list" price of this lens from Pentax Canada is $1499, so their "discount" is a little misleading, but still a good deal. $1999 is only the list price for those who buy in the US...

There is still nobody bidding on this lens, which means there is a big chance someone can get it for only $1200. It is a $300 discount. Good deal?

They also have some other high-end lens on sale. maybe a little misleading too, but I saw an DFA 100 2.8 WR at around $570.

Bringing that lens into OZ will add shipping cost, GST and import.. that's 14% plus shipping of maybe $75 to $100.

That would make that lens worth 1200 + 120 + 48 + 100 = 1468

You can buy them here for 1360 from dealers I've approached.

Hah, the lens was sold at 1224 CAD. On the item description it says 2 years Canadian Warranty, so I don't think American buyers are able to get a valid warranty.

I have bought from Prodigital in Canada before and you get a one year international warranty in the US, which actually isn't any different from the one year standard warranty we get here anyway.

It was a different market when I purchased my DA*300 from them over three years ago. The price difference was so big I didn't worry if I had to send it back for warranty as I saved $900.00 over the Australian price at the time (with all taxes and charges). The DA* 60-250 is a little different I just paid $1459.00 for mine in Perth and that was a better price than I could get it for out of the US. or Canada last month. Still the price differential isn't that great now to make it worth while.

I agree that for people need to consider S&H and custom cost, this lens may not be at a cheap price, but I have seen this lens used sold in the market place in this forum for more than this price. I think...

That was a very sharp observation, and totally made sense.

I live in Canada, and I don't know how cheap this lens goes in the US( but I know almost everything is cheaper there). I was very excited to see this sell, cuz I have never seen this lens sold so cheap, and I wished I had the money to get it!

The packaging was average, not real good, not real bad. Think better than Amazon, but worse than B&H, as far as padding the lens box goes.

But, everything arrived okay, and I am already in love with the 60-250.

I've had the same positive experience buying this lens from prodigital2000 (though I paid 13% tax on top of the eekBay deal, which is still below the CDN average price). Very little communication post-sale, but enough to know the lens was on its way. The comforting thing is that there is a 1-800 phone # and if I got a lemon (rare in the 60-250, but...) I could exchange it without sending it all the way back to Hong Kong or Japan like the other discount sellers. Though I didn't get a lemon at all, only a -6 on the AF adjust and I'm a happy camper!

My guess is that the pile of these lenses they have at this price will be gone soon enough, and I suspect that the Canadian price is going to go up as our dollar goes down against the yen. Maybe not "unified pricing policy" high like the US, but this doesn't seem like a "forever" deal. So get one if you're thinking about!
