I have noticed that nearly all lenses listed from Japan are asking top dollar, even some of the less than rare ones.

As beautiful as this lens is, I would never pay that much money for a non-AF lens. =/

Considering that turning off AF is the first thing many of us would do when using a 200mm macro or longer telephoto?

Then the ugly question of what we're in this hobby for rears its head. Are we shooters or are we collectors? Personally, I like collecting glass for my Pentax.

I couldn't imagine using AF on a 200mm 1:1 macro out in the field.
