I bought one also - got a receipt emailed, but that was it.

How did you get any shipping info?

Also, I see the 50-150 is listed once again.

Just do it!

Looking at your lens list in your sig, it looks like you could really enjoy the focal length of this zoom.

I'm more of a prime shooter, but after seeing the results of my DA* 60-250, I feel pretty confident that this 50-150 will be on par with that as far as IQ.

Just do it!

See how easy it is for me to spend your money?

Did you have to call to get her to send you the info?

I am really looking forward to getting this lens and just a little nervous when I didn't get any shipping information yet.

It's easy for me too. What's not easy is explaining it to my wife!

No, I didn't contact them at all. I was surprised too.

They have less HSM failures, but it is likely that these refurbs ARE those failures, eh? Or just returns for whatever reason. Guess you should use them heavily in the first 90 days and see how they hold up...

Just got it. I had to clean some wax drops on the strap and inside the box, at least it's not oil stain. But the lens looks new to me. I checked again and again. Anyway I have to use it this weekend and make sure everything is fine.

Judging by how quickly the 50-150mm lenses sold out, it looks like Sigma outlet had them significantly under-priced. I sold a used one in the marketplace without a box recently for $800, and before that the last used one listed in the marketplace went for $850. Congrats to everybody who got in on the deal!

I've been checking the Sigma Outlet regularly for more than a year, and this is the first time I saw the 50-150mm listed there for Pentax-mount.

what was the brand new price for sigma 50-150 when it was in production?
I assume it is lower than pentax 50-135 which is $899 brand new now.
what I can say is that sigma 50-150 has higher value than pentax 50-135. so resale value remain very high for 50-150.
I do not think people can sell an used pentax 50-135 for $800-850 now. usually it is around $700 now.

I bought my 50-150mm new from B&H in November of 2010 just before it was discontinued, and it was $750 at that time. I chose it over the Pentax 50-135mm for the reasons already described in this thread..."faster, more reliable, and better". So it seems like the value of the lens has actually increased since it was discontinued. This of course is not an unusual phenomenon when a very good lens is no longer being produced.

This is very similar to the situation with the great Sigma 100-300mm f4 which was discontinued prematurely. A used 100-300mm f4 in Pentax-mount sold on eBay a few months ago for more than $1400. They were being sold new for around $1100 when they were discontinued.

I tested it today. Good news is it's so sharp, quiet and fast and no AF adjustment is needed. Bad news is.....no bad news.
