Sadly they won't ship to Canada (i tried to buy a replacement hood from them)

Yes this is why I wanted the Sigma 50-150 instead.... faster, more reliable, and better... Sure there are HSM failures, but NOWHERE near the rate of SDM failures of Pentax DA* lenses.

It is very tempting. The wide primes look good. The only drawback is the "All Sigma cameras, lenses, and flashes qualify for a 90-day warranty." They also offer "Sigma will accept returns within 2 weeks of the original purchase." That is more than you would get with a used lens.

You likely just saved me $559 plus tax and shipping, as I'm pretty sure I would jump on the 50-150mm at that price. No love for the Canucks. I always wondered what Gentec (Sigma's rep in Canada) does with their refurbs. I should drop them an email. Likely sent them back to the US to be sold here.

Well, it appears to be all sold out from the Outlet inventory.... so that takes care of my craving! and helps me from going further into debt.

Yes saw it sold out also, hopefully my friend better picked up this fabulous deal otherwise I'll be angry at him as he is looking for a telephoto lens and the 50-150 f2.8 translates to a great deal in APS-C.
