Just followed the link to get it and it is listed at $789. Is the rebate taken off later or did I miss it?

Hmm...

I have lightroom 3 I bought at amazon, If I buy the upgrade to 4 is there even a little squeak of a chance I can slide in for this? :-)

I tried amazon, the service person couldn't find anything on it.

thanks

Amazon sent me a coupon code to get an additional $400 off Photoshop CS6 as a previous purchaser of LR3. The coupon was good thru 08/20 and my final price ended up being $187 plus odd cents plus sales tax. As you also purchased LR through Amazon you should be able to get a similar deal (I believe the coupon codes were individual to each customer) - suggest you send an email to their customer service. If you want a copy of their original email, send me a private email and I'll forward it on to you.

Besides true plugin support, character/text support and layers, what do you gain in PS from LR in terms of photography?

I get a lot done out of Photoshop CS6... Run noise reduction from Noise Ninja plugin, then shadow/highlight correction, then s-curve, then unsharp mask, then another noise reduction from the same plugin. I don't use layers often but a lot of people do. You can get a lot out of PS.
