A* 135 f1.8 value $1,200 to $2,000 depend on good condition. My A* 135mm f1.8 for $50. I am lucky. I love it. It is very RARE.
Are you saying that yours cost 50 bucks because it's crap?

Don't worry, I'm only jealous.

The 135/1.8 lens is 'equivalent' to a 202/2.8 lens on Full Frame.
Really, I thought it was only the 'equivalent' length that changed from FF to DSLR. That being so it would make this lens a 202 ish F1.8, certainly not such a common length and aperture combination.

The DOF changes because it's still a 135/1.8 lens and with the crop factor and 1.5x relative magnification it is equivalent to a 203/2.8. Sorry about that.

True..the F stop does indeed stay the same between FF and APS-C.....the intensity of light that falls on the APS-C sensor is the same as that which falls on the centre of a FF sensor.

...or, indeed, on a BFF (Bigger than Full Frame) sensor.

This matter of equivalence is of academic interest if you're not greatly fussed about how miniscully narrow the depth of field is on some arrangements. We could be unkind, and note that those who extol the DoF virtues of a 35mm sensor don't carry that to its logical extreme and compare it with the DoF of a larger format. Or, we could just stick with the OP's original subject and not turn every thread into a competition between APS-C and larger formats (in reality, between Pentax and Nikon, in these Forums). It was fun for a while, but now it's just getting tedious.

OK....I won't bring up that I'd love to try it on the Q....in case it offends anyone.

Was it anyone on the forum that picked this copy up?
