If it turns out to be a 40 Limited in the box instead of a ceiling fan (or an XS) its a great deal

Lately i've been trying to get to a 0 sum on my photography purchases. So, I've sold off a few lenses I haven't been using, a couple of camera bodies, etc. I used to collect watches. Haven't really done that in 2-3 years. But, I still have a small collection. I sold a Sekio Samurai today in 37 minutes flat for 2x what I paid for it in June 2010, I probably underpriced it. Now I have enough in the kitty to cover a 40 Limited and that much more.

I've been able to do that for all my photography gear so far. Buying inexpensive stuff, testing it, playing with it, then selling it at a fair price. That 40 would set me back in my target but it's a very tempting deal. I wonder if I can justify keeping the FA50 f1,7 and that limited? Or if the limited can replace the fifty (since I rarely use it wider than f2,5).

What's with the ceiling fan?

Well, they lied. I bought the item from their eBay listing and they shipped me the DA 40mm XS in a plain white box.

Now we get to find out if they'd prefer to replace it with the Limited or give me a refund and get negative feedback...

At least it wasn't a ceiling fan.

Keep us informed, because now they've sold 15 of the things.

That sucks. I checked the listing and nowhere it is mention that it is the limited, OR the XS. BUT the picture is clearly of the limited, and the weigth of the lens is listed as 3.18 ounces, and that's the weigth of the limited.

Please keep us informed, I was about to bite the bullet.

Sorry you are wrong - the title clearly says
"Pentax SMCP-DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited Series Autofocus Lens"

It also says
MPN 21550

21550 is the Pentax Model number for the 40 Limited not the XS.

That really sucks. The sales rep I talked to acted somewhat offended that I suspected it was actually a different lens than what they had listed. I specifically asked her if it was the DA limited or the XS. Glad I procrastinated on ordering one!

I also got one. And 3 of my friends also bought it.
It would really piss me off if what they shipped is da40xs.
such a stupid seller!

Right. I looked at the info, not the title... clever of me

did they confirm that they should be shipping the Limited? What else did they tell you?

Apparently the listing was removed from eBay between yesterday and this morning...

I asked her if it was possible the add was incorrect. She said the lens was as advertised. I told her that their price seemed very low and that it was closer to the normal price of the xs version. I also told her that the limited usually sells for over $400. She said "what does the add say it is". I told her it was listed as the DA limited lens. She said "then that is what it is". I said "are you sure it's not the xs model that usually sells for around this price?" She said that the add was correct. Kind of "snippy" about it when I questioned her. Sorry if my earlier post pushed some of you into ordering. I was just going by what I was told. I was going to order one myself. Like I said earlier, glad I hadn't done it yet.
