Amazon - K30 Kit Deal
Posted By: black-kx, 11-03-2012, 09:32 AM

Amazon has Used-Very good to Like-New K-30 package with 18-135 lens from $745 - $762 with 30day return policy (ships by Amazon)

I watched them and it was around $900 for few weeks and just dropped to $762 for Like-New one... In my opinion it is a steal becasue lens is worth at least $350.

What do you guys think?

It was with the kit lens. I was like wow this is SUPER cheap! I was so tempted, but I just bought a RX100 for the times when DSLRs aren't allowed at concerts. I hope I win the camera from here!

Thought I'd bump this one and check rather than start a new thread.

Anybody know anything about the k30 deal for $460 used now, Nov 19. Listing says no feedback, "just launched" is what it says as Seller Rating. Think it's worth a chance? Probably won't be around long for that...

on amazon...

never mind it's gone....

I have reported a few of them to Amazon. What these scammers are doing is: posting it for very short time; and on the page where the seller's name is displayed, it shows just lunch (0-feedback) and in the name/logo section it states: "please email at: xxxxxxxx@xxxx.com" (i have seen different email addreses) Also, when you click on the seller it shows up a different name. I have emailed one seller and got a responce right away, however, listing was removed after few minutes. I then questioned the seller and he assured me that he still has it and that he is out of country and the camera is with him... SCAM

They post for short time only so people can't report it to Amazon. It looks like they steal someones ID/psswd, or just create new accounts.

Anyways, be very careful if it asks you to email seller and if the price is super low.

I have been watching this for a week now and was hoping no one would report them nor buy from them.. they were really dropping the price of the amazon listed copies since they're all controlled by pricing bots.. I missed the blue K-30 that went for around 480!!! Hoping for another used kit sub 500.

I had to question it since the seller had no rating, just launched, and a price way lower than most. Ended up ordering one for 579 and a good rating...guess I'll just resell the 18-55 since I already have one I never use...

Anyway I checked again a few minutes after I posted, 3 used at 460 was listed, all 3 were gone. I looked up seller, probably had 50-60 more items listed, most of it non photography related, not sure if they could pull that many items in much of a hurry, and according to the Amazon a to z guarantee, all purchases are covered if it doesn't show up 3 days after final delivery date, or 30 days, whichever is sooner, but that doesn't do much about bait and switch scams...

So I ended up paying a bit more, but still less than a new one. I just hope it ends up in good condition. I don't mind a scratch or three, I'll add plenty of my own in no time hauling it around on the front seat and trekking through all sorts of wooded areas with it...

I wouldn't touch a "just launched" with a barge pole, at least for purchases of this size and a product of this complexity.

I'm certain that every seller there was "just launched" at some point and someone had to be first. Not me, not for USD $500. I need my sleep.

Not sure what you mean by just launched. The kit is from amazon warehouse itself. They are amazon kits, not 3rd party. If you were talking about an earlier post, then yes. $500 for the kit that was showing up in november was a sketchy deal.

$721 is a very good deal for this kit. Average price for a used 18-135 is around $375 right now.

I have one question, does B&H's $20 extended warranty cover this kit?

Depends. I don't think its supposed to but someone said the email receipt does not say used. Working right now so cant see mine. I did buy the $20 warranty extention myself. If I ever need to use it I guess we'll know for sure.

I was the one who bought the $20 warranty, it's too cheap to pass (if I ever need it, I will know if it will work)-but I think it should, because I saved an email receipt that doesn't state used under condition.

However, their new kit is only $841 right now, it's $120 more but you get NEW and extended warranty will work for sure! (still very good deal if you need the 18-135 lens)

If you don't need the WR 18-135 lens (which is only $370 new on amazon right now) than I would buy the Kit from Hunt's for $499 (w/$50 rebate=$449) for k-30 & 18-55 DAL

K-30 is excellent camera!

The lens for $370 on Amazon is not legit. They are basically separated from the kit. You don't get original box, no paperwork. And it seems they remove the lens hood too which they sell separately for $50. I wouldn't buy it even if it is new.

Oh, I see, didn't look into it...makes sense now why it is so low
