Posted By: panoguy, 11-09-2012, 11:39 AM

$6000 is a lot of change, but there is a "Make and Offer" button...

SMC Pentax FA* 5.6/250-600 IF ED #3013827 | eBay

It even has "faux natural woodgrain finish!" Go to, well-heeled Pentaxians!

I ask this same question of the people who OD on Viagra.

Just for information. I have bought from this seller before (an F 50mm 1.7) and had no issues with the transaction. The lens was as described and shipping was fast and well packaged.

I'm also not connected with the seller in case anyone was wondering.

Lumber Yard Camouflage?

Actually, I think the third photo shows what could be a major dent in the hood that the "woodgrain shelf-liner" is covering. Not sure, of course, so I wouldn't put up a serious offer (not that I even can) without asking to see close up photos of the hood, uncovered. If the hood is dented, the lens took a spill... and then it's maybe a $3k lens even if the glass "is pefect."

Having seen your photos, at least you could put this lens to good use!

I can't see any indication of a dent, but my concern comes from the lack of photos showing the left side of the lens. All pictures are of the same side.

I bid 3.5k€ (about 4500$) but my offer was rejected. I yesterday also asked about the signs of use, functionality and the ugly wooden tape, which is wrapped around the lens hood. Still got no answer. There seems to be no warranty. Please also note that one and the same lens is offered by two different (?) sellers at two distinct locations: See ebay 181020872170 + 251181204357

Yes, the duplicate listings are quite fishy. I reported suspicious activity on both listings.

Good job spotting the duplicate.

Seems a little dodgy. Still, faux wood or no faux wood, there's a kidney going on sale over here if anyone wants it. Should be enough to afford it
