Let's be honest with ourselves here- unless you're an enthusiast and/or a Pentax shooter to begin with, why would you consider a new Q over something like the NEX 5n, which is
cheaper, or even a Sony point-and-shoot, for that matter? There's a reason these things aren't selling outside of Japan...
All I'm trying to say is that if Pentax priced the Q competitively over here, it would get the attention it deserves. $200-$250 for the kit would be reasonable. The Q isn't a bad camera, but it really doesn't boast much over other mirrorless systems, and in some ways (like zooming), it's less convenient to use than an upper-end point-and-shoot.
Just look at the K-01: now that the price is right, basically everyone who ever considered one is buying it. That certainly wasn't the case before the price was slashed!
