They ran out of stock, normally they don't accept orders on stuff that's not in stock, so they're making it as pre-order to be able to accept orders

You'll should have your camera before the end of the month though!

I agree, go for it! I've been pretty unhappy with my K-7 and just minutes ago "pre-ordered" the K-5 IIs. I looked at a ton of K-5 II/IIs samples online, including DPReview's multi-cam comparison, and am already excited about going out to shoot again (which I haven't been for awhile).

I "pre-ordered" a K-5iis earlier this evening. At $1049 I just absolutely couldn't pass it up! I'm upgrading from a K-x so I am dying of anticipation now until it arrives!!!

From Kx to K5IIs is a huge jump. I'm sure you'd love what you are getting from the new camera
