Working on getting some better deals, but here's a new one from B&H:

Man...this is tough. I know that I want/need this lens and the price now is favorable. But, I would have to sell my FA* 300 4.5, and the used market on that lens seems to have dropped in a hole.

Thanks for keeping the prices coming Adam!

I've pretty much succeeded in convincing B&H that we've got to work together and do something about the online MAP crap. For now they're doing what we can, I suggested that they offer deals on a wider variety of lenses (i.e. those that Adorama hasn't discounted), so we'll see how that goes.

B&H has also discounted the 16-50, 50-135, and 60-250 to 1099, 1299, and 1699 respectively, but since those prices are still quite inflated, I haven't shared the news.

I've been watching this lens as I want to try one but still can't be sure if I want to sell my FA* 300 4.5 (can't afford to keep both).

For the past couple weeks since after the Thanksgiving weekend specials, this lens has been $1054 if you added it to your cart. Now it shows as back ordered, but you can still put it in your cart to be shipped when they receive it - but now it has a price of $1124. Still a nice discount off the regular price even with the rebate. I'm wondering if these great lens prices B&H have been giving us are all going to come to an end soon.

It shows backorderd because I got the last one - Friday!

I decided at the last minute to get a K-01 with the DA40XS. Why? That is another story. When I put the camera in the cart, B&H had some bundling with the purchase of a new camera. The DA*300 lens came in under $980!

So if the B&H pricing ends soon, it will appear that I bought a DA*300 and got a K-01 with DA40XS for free.

Through Adam/B&H/Adorama over the last month or so, I have seriously taken a beating. These deals are insane. The money I saved by spending is considerable. If there is one thing about Pentax gear, is that it can be sold for about what you pay for it new.

Imagine if you had a DA* 12-24 for sale?! There are some on the marketplace, but they are selling for about what they would cost new - if you could get one!

I say buy the lens, and sell what you don't want.

I wish I had the spine to sell Pentax gear I don't use...but I don't.

DA*300 is back up to $1124 according to the email B&H sent me this morning. It is also a special order item only, non-returnable/refundable.

I've never heard of non-returnable non-refundable from B&H - where are you seeing this?

In the email they sent me this morning it laid out those details. It provided a link to the DA*300 where it also said non-returnable/refundable

I got the same sort of email from them. (I had put a watch to see when an item was in stock)

Thanks for including the extra info calculator and Douge - the part of non-returnable etc must only be in the emails.

When I click on the link in the original post, and put it in my cart, there is no mention of this. It was not that I was doubting what you guys were saying.

At any rate, like I said above, I am still pondering the move. At this point I will just wait until they get it back in stock and see what happens with the price from there.
