Dumb question - does that lens work on a k30 also? And will a screw mount converter work on the k 01 so that you can use old pentax screw lenses?
The lens works on the k-30.
The screw mount converter will work on the k-01.

Oh boy, that seems to be an irresistible deal. I really want the lens for my k30 and my uncle needs a camera for his hordes of screw mount lenses.
Just wondering, do you already have a screw mount adapter? I found the genuine pentax one hard to find.
After reading some reviews on pentaxforums, I went for this one since the pentax adapters on ebay were way overpriced.
M42 lenses on Pentax K

The genuine pentax adapter is back-ordered here.

This is getting ridiculous. I talked myself out of buying this when Adorama and BH dropped their prices to 316 but this is cheaper with the DA40XS. the white and black versions might be sold out so I ordered the yellow one. Whatever.

I personally found that removing (even the Asahi one) adapter ring on-off the cam to be a pain. You can get a cheap (non-flanged) adapter for so cheap now, just leave it attached to the lens. (Make sure you unscrew the retaining clip off the ring first!!) Then it will mount on-off just like any K-mount lens. On certain lenses you can even drill or file a notch so they will stay locked in place!
P.S. If I recall, the Pentax store also has the official adapter for like $22 I think last I saw..

Yeah - that was quick - only the yellow is available right now.

AFAIK, it is no longer available. When I click on the link in this thread it says not available. I did a search and can't seem to find it at the Pentax store.

I see them on ebay now for between $45 to $90

Do the cheap adapters focus to infinity?

I don't think the pentax store is carrying it anymore but they are available at BH sometimes (currently backordered).

The cheaper adapters typically focus to infinity but you have no idea what you are going to get. I bought the off brand one (listed as general brand but with Bower on it) 2 years ago from BH. First the set screw for the retaining clip was too long and rubbed (basically cut into) the lens threads. After removing the retaining clip the adapter was not mounted securely. Others have had better luck with other off brand adapters but the Pentax adapter worked perfectly.
