Wow, never even thought to check Henry's. Just got off the phone with them, and every single unit they had in stock both at their warehouse and store locations is gone. Missed the boat. They have 1 unit on hold for someone....if that falls thru, that it'll be held for me. Amazon is still cheaper by $40, but I'm not confident that Amazon will get enough units to fill all these orders. Henry's will be a backup plan....should have jumped on this earlier.
A 2-yr warranty from Pentax Canada vs. one year if you buy in the US is worth part of the difference. Buying something that's in stock is worth something. Ordering and waiting to see if it turns up in a month is not for me. There may be no new stock anywhere a month from now.

Henry's was out when I looked. The Camera Store in Calgary was advertising a black body for $299, out of stock, and a white with XS 40 for $369 + $10 shipping to Ontario, then of course HST.

I wanted a white body, because I have a matching DA L 18-55. I already have a 40 Ltd, but an XS 40 for $70 was too good to pass up. I may sell the XS 40, but probably not. I hoard or give things away, I never sell anything.

Did anyone else see this comparison (Pentax K-01 vs Fuji X-100) and find it fishy?
Fujifilm X100 vs Pentax K-01 - Our Analysis
I say "fishy" because the "pros" of the Fuji are few (3), and arguably insignificant (ex: viewfinder saves battery life) the "pros" of the Pentax are many (15), and pretty darned significant (better IQ for instance...duh!).
This one is a mess too. Canon G1X vs Pentax K-01 - Our Analysis

There system is all messed up. They also apparently do not code the items for cameras very accurately, the G1X gets a + for a built in flash while the K-01 gets a - - Dooh!

Apparently, having a viewfinder is much better than having a landslide of reasons to buy a K-01... and also, 90 is only "slight more" than 1 in terms of lenses according to them. They do maff very good

I am really tempted too!!! Especially after seeing it is sold at about 900USD in Singapore Pentax web store. It is really good bargain! But I have K5 already, do I really need this???

No, you don't really need it - unless you are into creative video and then its better than your K-5. It is a nice backup for the K-5 though......

Even in video its quite debatable might I add. In terms of quality the K5 is better, the K01s codec is quite poor.

Well that is partially true, it is much easier to record on the K01 and you get better control, its just the K5 has better quality, but lacks the manual control

How yellow is it in real life? Is it something like a Caterpillar yellow or a Tonka yellow? Are the ads oversaturated on purpose?

Thanks Docrwm, I never took video before and really has no passion in it. Seems I just need to control myself.
