Spotted this on ebay - couldn't find it on KEH's website but sometimes I find their listings of Pentax gear a bit wonky.

Anyways, figured someone might be interested!

I guess if you truly need 2.8 then its worth it. I couldn't afford it though.

Last time I sold a A*300/2.8 sold for ~$2200. It general goes for $2-2.5k.
I know the FA* usually goes for about ~$3k or may be a bit more.

You cannot beat the condition of this one.

Hopefully whoever buys it takes just as good of a condition of it as it already is. What a beautiful prime that I will never fathom paying the price for.

I'd buy that right now, but they won't sell to Australia..... Getting So P'ed off with ebay sellers in the US that wont sell internationally, They take it to the Post office, what difference does it make if the delivery address is around the corner, or around the world??? They never post until payment is cleared and they have the money, so I am at a complete loss, Cant even messagethem as they dont accept international messages.... Very dissappointing..

Maybe if you call KEH directly and ask them about the auction? They might be willing to close the auction and sell it to you directly.

I've been following this lens since it appeared on the KEH site in September. They moved it to eBay a month or so later, and the price has been gradually coming down. But this may be as low as they go with the B-I-N price. I'm a bit surprised it's still there; the price may be on the high side but isn't outrageous for a near-mint copy.

I'd love to have this, but as crewl1 points out, paying roughly 4x the price of a DA* 300 to gain one stop is a questionable value proposition.

Especially as the new Sigma 300mm f2.8 is a bit cheaper. As is the 120-300mm f2.8.
