Lot of FA 50 1.4 auctioned at shopgoodwill.com
Posted By: aseno, 01-10-2013, 01:15 PM

There are lots (3 lots of 3) FA 50 1.4 being auctioned at shopgoodwill.com. One lot is going to close 1/11, now at ~620. Whatever the closing price is, I am glad it went to Goodwill. Kudos to the person who donated these!

For the unfamiliar, goodwill has their own auction site, and sometimes has very interesting Pentax stuff. This possibly a hidden secret few people here know. The closing price usually end up at marketplace price, as the bidders are pretty fierce and competitive. I may going to be frowned upon for telling this secret

shopgoodwill.com ...I got some really good deals with Pentax -110 lenses and ricoh slrs and XR lenses -- I suppose off brand and less contested.
I will be more careful in light of above posts
Incidentally - etsy.com - last year I got a Graflex in top condition for about half the going rate.

Also, i search KEH and Adorama and recent purchases were a lens and a tripod at about a third to half of the prices on the BIN /auctions

That is totally a single lens, buyers will be quite upset I think...

It's all in the wording, they never say "Lot of Three for sale" + Each auction has a SINGLE serial no.

Well, it's for 'goodwill', what do you expect? Some people just want to donate money there, that's all

Also, I am not 100% sure they have 3 sets of 3. I strongly suspect it is one set of three, over 3 separate auctions, and some winning bidders are going to be very disappointed. Could be wrong, but wouldn't bid over the cost of one.
They may, in fact, have 3 sets of three. They have auctioned off a BOAT LOAD of WG-1s in the past 6 months or so, sometimes in lots of multiples.

I've got that feeling that it is screwed up too. All three auction have the same photo. It was a place you could find bargains, but in the last year the auctions are going for far more than the value.in my opinion, and hard to say what the condition will be. I have picked up a few nice lenses there, but it's been awhile.

Three lenses, three auctions, and at this time only one buyer. An incipient unhappy customer, G*O, at 626.00x3

{oops! I posted this in the wrong thread earlier, meant it to go here.}

One thing I notice about these auctions. Also on Craig's List. And eBay.

About 80% to 90% of what is for sale is Nikon, Canon, Minolta, Kodak, etc. Very little Pentax.

I would venture to say that is because Pentax cameras and lenses are the very best, and once well informed photographers get their hands on them, they are smart enough to not let go of them.

Sure, one might argue that because there are fewer Pentax items sold each year then there will be fewer available for sale used.

Believe what you wish.

However I will choose the former idea.

I interpreted the listings as 3 lens total, not 3 auctions of 3 lenses (9 lenses total).

The estimated shipping weight of each listing is 2 lbs. There's another single boxed FA50 f1.4 listed at an estimated shipping weight of 2 lbs.

A couple people are going to be mighty pissed off.

Please see furryurry's post in this thread - he actually checked with the Goodwill Branch that was selling them - 3x3 = 9 lenses were sold according to them.
