The price is really attractive, just no pictures, no descriptions which makes you not so confident.

I'd sooner buy from KEH (especially with an EX+ rating) with more confidence than from anyone off ebay even with pictures. Trouble is they wont ship to me down here.

Agreed - KEH has a good reputation with me, plus they have a 6 month warranty on everything. Also a 14 day unconditional return period.

Em, seems you have Sigma 8-16 lens, how is it? I had been thinking of getting one from B&H for quite some time, but the vignetting thing always puzzles me. Is it really that bad?

I've also had it a month or 2 bought used in the PF marketplace. Its a fun lens but quite heavy compared to something like a DA15.

There is some vignetting fully open out a 8mm but I don't find it distracting as.... say on a superzoom type lens like 18-250 or 18-135. Vignetting measured on a 18-135 is probably about the same but you can see the dark corners more noticeable. There is some natural light falloff in the ultrawide angle so it is more expected.
Oh... if you forget to take off the second part of the 2 piece lens cap then there are black corners in the shot.

FA31 I guess doesn't suffer from this issue so much. There would be some serious vignetting of my bank balance if I could get the one from KEH.

Thanks Steve, that is quite useful information. Since the vignetting is quite noticeable on my DA* 16-50 F2.8 at 16mm end when wide open, I guess this lens wouldn't be much worse than that. I will seriously consider getting one sooner or later.

I've bought from KEH and they were great. I would get it if I had anywhere near the money to do so.

Yes, they should. I bouhgt from KEH before and I got it shipped to Brisbane. I had to contact directly KEH staff but it did work.

And yes, KEH is a really trustworthy second hand retailed. Their assessment is very conservative and they are very reliable.

Actually talking to someone .... in the internet age? oh i never thought of doing that.

Probably best in my mind thinking it's too difficult to arrange, as I cant really afford an FA31 at the moment, unless someone would kindly like to take care of my house payments for this month. Anyone?

The best offerings from KEH tend to go quickly. Good company in my experience.

Some of them have a "South'n" accent, should match up well with your Aussie accent!
