I just bought myself a Pentax k-30 on ebay with the two lens kit for $779.99.

The two lens that it came with are:
DA AL WR 18-55mm
ED 50-200mm

Price is lowest I have found by a pretty large margin. Thought I would share the the link

Not that it is a bad deal but the 18-55 is the non WR version. It reads:

Brand New- in box Pentax K-30 with 18-55 and 55-200 lenses!
(lenses are not WR)

That is the Ebay default description but the buyer clarifies that it is the D AL version

not illiterate, but sometimes adds have contradictory info!. Double check with the seller just in case

I have seen similar before and thought that it was, perhaps, a slight bit of trickery. The K-30 is WR, but, sadly, the lenses not. Unless I am the one illiterate!

Decent but what about the warranty? I am no expert but I am always wary when not purchasing from a verified official reseller. Same with when people post items for sale here and say it is new in box with the warranty. I really question whether that warranty will be honored without the receipt from the verified dealer.

It says in the add that it is sold through a store called Cardinal Camera... with a quick google search shows that they have 15 stores in the mid atlantic area

You are right in being concerned about the warranty. Also what throws up a red flag for me on this one is the return policy states: No Returns.

I've seen it happen many times here on this forum alone - someone thinks they might save $20-$30 on a $1000.00 camera by buying from an unknown vendor. I fail to understand the thinking behind this.

Also with the private party sales like here in the Marketplace, the warranty on cameras and lenses are for the original purchaser - period. The only time that this would be different is with a third party warranty that specifically states that it is transferable to the next owner - and that usually comes with a fee.

ebay offers warranties through bestbuy for the camera. Do you think I should take advantage of this?
