Nice find!

Just for the fun of it they show a bundle with a bunch of junkish goodies to go along with the lens for $299 also. Put it in my cart and applied the coupon code, but didn't work with the bundle.

Works perfectly for the lens however - very nice deal on a great lens.

I was curious anyway - I don't follow the news at all, but I thought I heard somewhere that California residents would now pay sales tax for any internet purchases no matter the shippers location?

Thanks, I tried that too and found that it only works on the lens itself too. Of course I had to put it in my cart and then.......

This is true. They collect it at tax time.
They ask you to use a worksheet to list all your Internet purchases that you did not pay sales tax on or you can let them apply some formula based on your income.
The amount you should have paid is then added to your tax return so you can pay it when you file.
Your state may be next, make sure to fight it if you get the chance.
