Probably a dumb question, but if this doesn't have HSM, why are they selling at the same price point as those mounts that have? Shouldn't it be cheaper?

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC Autofocus Lens for Pentax Digital 300109

Guess it's clearance time for this lens.

Still available at B&H using Adams link above.

Considering Adorama has been cleaned out already, I recommend using a "shoot first ask questions later approach"

One would think, but they probably sell so many more Canikons that they can discount them a little and not worry about different prices. Or since Pentaxians' options are Limited (pun intended!), they are sticking it to them. Po-tay-to, po-tah-to.

(Plus, Adorama doesn't seem to know that it isn't an HSM lens.)

I think it does pretty well. While it's a little heavy because of all that glass, the short barrel length helps it balance on the Brick. It's not like big zooms, where I want a DSLR with a grip.

Although sold out, B&H updated base price from $489 to $339 and then the rebate of $50. Does it mean, Sigma is lowering price and it will be soon available at regular price of $339 even without any rebates?

The price was cheaper when it was sold by Adorama as vendor. It is being sold by someone else now.

Only sold out for Pentax mount, available otherwise. Seems like Penax users love Sigma 30mm more than Canikon users

Or they just had fewer because there are fewer of us.

+1. I'll throw in that since the new version has been announced for Canikon, they may be more likely to wait for the new version (the "Osborne effect"), but I'm thinking you're right.

a bit bummed out that I missed out on this awesome deal... but hoping for the new version in a Pentax mount someday; would be awesome to have HSM silent focusing in a prime lens that is wider than 55mm! Plus maybe the new version will feature improved optics at the corners, and better quality control? One can dream...

(of course, if I could have gotten this lens for under $300, I wouldn't be saying any of this...)

over the past few days, I've been mulling over whether I could really use a 30mm f/1.4, and I have been shooting with my FA 50 f/1.4 a lot more than usual to get a feel for f/1.4. The difference in focal length is very significant, especially indoors. I already have F28 f/2.8 and FA 35 f/2.0 so my needs around the 28-35mm range are covered; the question is, will the f/1.4 be worth the extra expense and much larger weight/size of a Sigma 30? Hmm... Maybe I'll just stick with my FA 35 and take a step or two back...
