Maybe it was only a President's Day sale, but when I click on this link right now, it shows the price is $389. which is still fairly decent for a f/1.4 30mm prime, but I'm greedy (or as my wife would say, "cheap") for the $350 or $289 price! Oh well. Heard some good things about Unique Photo, wish I lived closer to visit the store.

Now Uniquephoto's website shows a price of $439.00! these are some crazy price swings on a discontinued lens.

My lens was delivered today from Adorama. Seems like a keeper. I only had about 45 minutes of light to play but the early results were really good.

Got an email From Adorama saying that the lens is discontinued and my order is canceled. Too bad!

That is the same deal I got from B&H on the first deal.Good deal too. I am enjoying the lens.

Ack, I lost out on this great deal too. It turns out that I was able to submit an order through Uniquephoto.com last month, at the $289 price, but then I got an email saying that the lens was backordered and would take a few weeks to come in. It's been a month, and I saw that their listing for this lens now says "discontinued." I contacted their customer service to ask about the status and they said they could no longer fulfill the order and would be refunding me my money (I'm a little upset that they took my money upfront, but they claimed that if I use PayPal, this is the standard practice; if I had used a credit card, they wouldn't have charged me until they shipped the product).

Anyway, looks like I'll be waiting for Sigma to release the new Art version of the 30mm for K-mount, and I will probably have to fork over upwards of $450-499 to get it. At this point, I'm hoping for improved corner sharpness performance and it will be nice to have the HSM too. But I'm still sad to miss out on getting the old version for less than $300!

Keep watch in the marketplace. This lens pops up from time to time but usually doesn't last very long for a good reason. I use all Sigma lenses and this is easily my favorite next to my 10-20mm.
