Well, maybe I will receive this lens after all.

Paypal found a solution and fixed the problem. I re-ordered the lens and asked them to cancel the original order. :-)

Correct... my mistake, one more day.

I just can't believe this lens is selling at this price when everywhere else it is selling for over $600.

This will be a perfect prime for video work and the lack of auto focus is moot b/c Pentax doesn't support auto focus in video mode. Also, I intend to use this lens for astrophotography (again - auto focus moot) and the f1.4 ... can't get much brighter than that!

Actually, I wouldn't consider it a moot point, I would consider it an advantage, for two reasons:

1. The Samyang has a longer focus throw than many autofocus lenses.

2. The Samyang has hard stops at the minimum focus distance and at infinity. Some lenses, such as Canon and Nikon zooms, do not have hard stops. What this means is that, if you are using a follow focus, your focus marks will be inaccurate every time you pull focus past either infinity or minimum focus distance. The reason is that the focus ring keeps on turning. This is a huge pain, and I will try to avoid owning lenses without hard stops for this reason.

I can name another advantage for video: because of the physical size of the lens, you don't need to worry about it extending far enough past your base plate to use a follow focus. This is a concern with some smaller lenses. Also, you don't need to add a larger lens gear - a zip tie gear is adequate.

I see B&H shows the Bower 24mm F1.4 Pentax mount is now $499 and in stock but my Feb 16 order at the $399 price still has not shipped.

If you have received the lens, could you please check if it has a A position on the aperture ring, and does it offer auto aperture control by the body. Thanks.

$15 savings.... right?

Anyhow, B&H has shipped my lens today. Also purchased a desperately needed follow focus and AC power adapter for my K-5.
