Posted By: seventysixersfan, 03-01-2013, 01:45 PM

WOW!

These won't last long, I'm sure. $499 for the awesome and rare Sigma 50-150 F2.8 EX DC HSM II.
50-150mm F2.8 EX DC HSM II Refurbished | Sigma

Last time it was offered in the Sigma Outlet Store was for $559.

As discussed here in this thread:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-price-watch/195883-refurbished-si...nses-sale.html

And Edgar does an excellent write-up of this lens here:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/128533-sigma-...lots-pics.html

Run, don't walk, to buy this great zoom lens at an amazing price!

How does it compare with Tamron SP AF70-200mm F/2.8 Di LD [IF] Macro? I was considering this Tamron for some time.

I was curious about the Tamron myself. It was what I WAS going to buy before this deal popped up. $270 less than that Tamron. I've seen comparisons between the Tamron and the Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8, in which the Tamron rivaled it for sharpness, which is really saying something, as the Nikkor is excellent. But regardless, I jumped on this based on the pics on this site and what people have said, and the price. Also the Tamron's AF is somewhat slow; though I don't know how it compares to this particular Sigma.

Thanks for posting this. I just bought one. I used to have one and sold it for lack of use since I usually use the 50-135 instead. I've been kicking myself ever since.

Are these Full Frame or APS-C format? Wondering if these will be useful with "the upcoming" full frame Pentax :-)

Edit: Wondering if DC stands for APS-C?

AFAIK Sigma's DC lenses are meant to be used on APS-C cameras, DG on FF.
And I am also interested to know if this lens is usable on FF body.

Nobody knows what will be the mount for the full frame. We are all assuming it will be K-Mount.

Nobody knows if there will be a full-frame as they have not confirmed it - if there is one though can't see it being anything else but a K-Mount...

If they do something new for full frame that would a huge set back. K-Mount was originally designed for full frame (35mm) films!

Don't worry, if the last outlet-sale on these lenses is any indicator, they will start showing up on the PF Marketplace in about a month... for $750 or so!
