Here's a slick deal on two ultra-fast SD cards: $18.95 for both

Will these work fine in K30

Buying memory for my just purchased K30. I was going to buy 2 x 16gb sony SF-16NX Rakuten.com - Sony DSLR SF16NXTQ 16GB SDHC Class 10 SD Memory Card - 2-PACK but this seems a better deal for a faster card. Would welcome advice as it specifically applies to K30. Should I just get sandisk as I have seen reviewers on B&H complain about not hitting claimed speed with Sony. thanks

These cards are faster that the K-30's maximum writing speed. You should, however, observe faster xfer speeds from the card to your computer.

I would take the random reviews with a grain of salt - if they were transferring to or from a computer, unless they know the speed of the drive they are transferring with, they can't know the actual write speeds. Also, if they are transferring over USB 2.0 then the speeds they mentioned are probably accurate. Unfortunately there is no true test review out for these cards (I looked as I am contemplating a couple of them, don't have any uhs-1 cards yet).

I'll tell you this though, transferring via USB 3.0 to a USB 3.0 hard drive I got almost 40mb/s with those sandisk ultra 30mb/s cards that are routinely on sale. These cards should theoretically be faster than what the K-30 can handle.

To Adam's point about transferring faster to your computer - only if you've also got a fast hard drive and USB 3.0 capability, those are the only ways your PC will take advantage of the uhs-1 speeds.

Ultimately though, Adam is right in that these should be much faster than the K-30, unless they outright lied about the card capability.

Thanks for the help. I dont need super fast transfer to the computer I am using 2.0 anyway so that negates these super fast SD cards. From my research today i have been unable to get a firm answer on the K30 uhs-1 compatibility (at least in terms of improving the buffer write speed). I'm going with the Sony 22 mb/s from buy.com, 2 for $18 shipped. I'm sure they will be fast enough.

Yup, confirming that the price has dropped to $18.95. That's a pretty good deal for such fast cards.

Just an FYI... B&H's site says "no longer available" as of today.

The K-30 is definitely UHS-1 compatible, that's actually in the manual.

I missed out on this deal, but I already have some Patriot 45MB/s cards (32GB and 64GB).
16GB is plenty for stills, but not for video.
I hope they get the larger 95MB/s cards on sale soon. I would have paid the $18.95 gladly for a single 32GB - but not two 16GB.
