Received my black body today. Updated the firmware and matched the settings to my white pandatrooper and everything seems good to go. Was going to let the idea of a second K-01 pass at $300 but for $250 it's an absolute steal!

I know I missed the $249 sell off, but a local camera store has the white K-01 with 40mm XS lens for $399. I'm tempted to pick it up and sell the lens since I have the 40mm limited....

I've been on the fence over this. Almost bought the Adorama deal but hesitated too long. Then was going to order the yellow version at B&H but their online ordering was closed & then I missed out. Got an email from Rakuten/Buy.com this afternoon and they have a 20% back happy hour promotion right now so I pulled the trigger on the 315.89 price.

Got mine 2 days ago. LOVE that it uses the same battery as my K-5 IIs, since I already bought extra batts for that cam, and now I have another one. Great! Updated the firmware after doing a quick AF test, and after updating it is much faster to AF, which is great. It's still no OM-D (not even close), but it does well enough. Things I don't like: the non-existent 1 fps rate for RAW shooting (which I'm really fine with but it could have easily been better; even 3 would have been something), the buffer for continuous jpeg is abysmally small (again, knew this going in and am fine with it, but also again, could have easily been better), and the god-awful rubber flap for the SD card slot/plugins... it is horrid. Why you wouldn't make it a nice metal or even plastic door makes absolutely no sense to me. Minus those issues (and really the rubber flap is the worst of them... it's truly annoying), I love it. It's a gorgeous little cam, even in yellow, and I've already had multiple 'ooo's' and 'aaah's' from people seeing it for the first time. Very happy with my purchase, and for $249, I really can't imagine getting a better deal (unless the body goes on sale for $199 or something... lol... then I may get another one).

Congratulations on the Yellow K-01, good choice

I agree with your assessment too, the rubber door is already not fitting quite as well as it once did on mine (and folks here derided me for pointing out that it was a problem waiting to happen). Enjoy your new toy.

Well, I came home with the white K-01 kit for $334!! Ace Photo is selling the body only for $267 today. If anyone is in the Washington, DC area stop by. They only have the yellow one body only. They have the yellow and white kits with 40mm XS. They are selling most stuff at cost or very big discounts today only.
