Again, this one is from Electronics Basket and there have been all sorts of problems with orders fulfilled by them - missing parts, used sold as new, etc.

Let's be careful out there!

odd, the link I copied was for Sunset Electronics, and the price was 844 not 848 ... Amazon must change the banner seller, but keep the link.

Just FYI Sunset Electronics buys kits in bulk, takes out the lenses and sells the body separately. I just bought a new k-30 body only from them and it came in a k-30 18-55 kit without the lens. I think it's kind of deceptive, I called them on it and they said it's normal practice for them.

It's normal practice for most of the sellers who are not Adorama or B&H frankly. Not all certainly but a very large number of the Pentax cameras offered on Amazon by other than Amazon, Adorama, or B&H come that way. My problem is with sellers that break the kits up, but only send part of the kit as has been reported of Electronics basket with the lenses not coming with the standard hood. When they advertise a lens that comes with a hood standard and have the hood in the picture in the ad, but send it without the hood that is deceptive IMHO.

Received it today, looks brand spanking new. It did come in a kit box for body and 18-55WR, obviously sans lens. (I have one so if I decide to sell I can sell it as the almost proper kit (serial number of lens certainly won't match up).

Battery is charging. Once I turn it on I'll double check shutter actuations, but otherwise it looks fabulous. Can't wait to start using it. Will be purchasing quality lenses (limiteds or DA*) over the weekend, if i can decide what to get ...

I bought one from Amazon but is was used but just repackaged. Body had few scratches and finger prints all over the top display. It was returned the same day :< I haven't decided on re ordering it because I should just wait for K3 instead :>

I bought my K-5 IIs body from Sunset Electronics on Ebay. It took about a month to get from NY to NV (where I live) and their customer service was kinda crappy, but it looked and felt and smelled brand new. And there were no recorded shutter actuations when I received it.
